24th Weeks / Pregnancy weight / Fetal Growth Chart
i've gained a total of 6kg as of today at 24 weeks of pregnancy. I'm so worried if I gain as much as I did during my first pregnancy.. that is 22kg.

I was so @#&^%$ big!! at that time. Some thought that I was carying twins! :(

so for now, I'm trying my very best to control my diet. (yeah right!) and till today, everythings looks okay.

other update:

at 24 weeks, I still havent see my gynae yet. My gynae's mum passed away last Monday. Alfatihah to her mum. She's back to work today. I hope to see her today.

Baby is so active. last week, he was active in the evening. But this week, he'd change to a morning person.. he'd start kicking at around 9am. then rest for a while .. till I have my lunch. then start kicking againg.. till the evening. He's slow down towards night time..

Some still didnt notice me being pregnant. (why???).. i tot my tummy is already big enuf? ergh..
something worth sharing.

When Should Weight Gain Occur During Pregnancy?
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) advises that Moms-to-be should gain 2-4 pounds in the first three months of their pregnancy and then 3-4 pounds per month for the remaining six months. A total weight gain of about 25 to 30 pounds, with most weight being gained in the last trimester.

Jacuzzi anyone?
I said to hubby yesterday, my body is aching all over.. I wish I am in a jacuzzi.. ahhh ..
then hubby said, why not.. He'll pay for it (spa/jacuzzi/wateva)..

but then, make sure that its safe ..

so today, .. I did some research, and here are my findings.. :(

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Can I use the Jacuzzi?
Regulating your body temperature is important during pregnancy. Studies suggest that increasing your temperature above 38.9C (102 F) for more than ten minutes in the first seven weeks of pregnancy can increase the risk of miscarriage or some neural tube defects such as spina bifida. Avoid overheating during the first trimester of pregnancy, and only use Jacuzzis occasionally and for short periods of time (less than ten minutes) for the rest of your pregnancy.

4. Keep cool Don’t get overheated, especially in the first 3 months. Drink plenty of fluids before and during exercise, wear layers of "breathable" clothing, don't exercise in hot weather, and don't use a jacuzzi or sauna.

Hot tubs appear to pose special risks because they raise the body temperature of the mother without giving her body the chance to perspire into the air, he says. For that reason, saunas and steam baths may be less risky for the fetus because the mother can still sweat into the air, he adds.

looks like ... no jacuzzi for me :(

wish I could go here

21st & 22nd week

Dear ***,
You are now in week 21 of your pregnancy.

Your baby is now around three-quarters of a pound and nearly 11 inches long, they have fully formed eyelids and eyebrows at this point, what's more they're getting ready for another growth spurt-- this time to start packing on that cute baby fat. If you've noticed what seem like mild contractions, you're right! But not to worry, they're a far cry from what you're going to experience during labor. Learn more about these in our full-length article for week 21.

Dear ***,
You are now in week 22 of your pregnancy.

Your baby is nearly an entire foot long and weighs almost an entire pound! What's more they've started to produce their own hormones as their little pancreas continues to steadily develop. As for you, your uterus is getting massive, so your belly is massive, and you're worried more about stretch marks, so it probably hasn't occurred to you to get a glucose screening test, but maybe you should. Check out the full article for week 22 to learn more about glucose screening.

If you haven’t felt them already, you may soon notice your uterus practicing for delivery with irregular, painless contractions called Braxton Hicks contractions (felt this already). You may feel a squeezing sensation in your abdomen. Don't worry, though: Your baby may be able to feel the contraction as it squeezes the uterus, but Braxton Hicks contractions aren't dangerous or harmful. If, however, the contractions become more intense, painful, or frequent, contact your health care provider immediately because painful, regular contractions may be a sign of preterm labor.
